Description: To successfully and effectively battle COVID-19 and other infectious diseases, we must all leverage the knowledge gained from education and training, as well as the documentation of that knowledge through certification. This begins with Standards. Standards (specific goals, definitions of cleanliness, methods of measurement) are the expected result from a successful outcome of effective cleaning and disinfection. This becomes the driver of the Scope of Work (frequencies assigned to cleaning and disinfection tasks). The frequency of these tasks is directly related to the cleanliness and the sanitary condition of a building. In addition, workloading and staffing considerations must be realistic to accommodate the appropriate task frequency assignments.  The key is whether all frontline workers are educated and trained on industry Best Practices, on not only being effective, but also being safe and efficient.
